Head Up in the Corners
Have you ever felt like you’re living in the corners of life? A reference to hockey where you are digging the puck out of the corners, over and over. Sometimes life can feel that way. You make headway in one direction, but something else suffers. You find happiness in one area of life but are still trying to find happiness in another. At times you can work tirelessly and still find yourself with your head down in the corners, digging away trying to make your next play in life.
We all know we’re going to experience these moments. But as they say in hockey, “head up!” This is so you see the full play in front of you, ensuring you are relevant to what’s going on around you, and helping you to avoid a hit out of the blue!
This week, I’m in the corners. But just know I’m here, taking in what’s around me, and watching for anything out of the blue – my head’s up!
Remember to always practice within your own limits and take care of physical and emotional well-being. Use yoga props as suits your practice.
This week, get out there. Find a practice that allows you to keep your head up. Take in the space and people around you. If you practice with a mirror, take in the vision of your own postures.
