Ayurveda on Sunday with Krista Strayer

This 3-hour Sunday afternoon workshop by Krista Strayer, a veteran member of the AYC Faculty, introduces you to Ayurveda, a complementary health system. Ayurveda which looks at the whole person, treating causes not symptoms. Ayurveda means The Science of Life and is considered to be perhaps the oldest healing science. It originated in India thousands of years ago and is sometimes called the “Mother of All Healing.” The principles of many of the natural healing systems now familiar in the West have their roots in Ayurveda.

Ayurveda emphasizes prevention and supports maintaining our health by balancing one’s life with diet, lifestyle and the use of plants. Knowledge of Ayurveda enables us to balance body, mind and spirit, in accordance with our own constitution, enabling us to make lifestyle changes to bring about overall health.
